Thomas Wellings was born in and enlisted at Cardiff. Serving as a Sapper in the 102nd Field Company, R.E., he was awarded the Military Medal. He died of wounds when serving in Italy on 25 February 1918, aged 30 years. He was the son of William and Clara Wellings of Cardiff. He was buried in the Giavera British Cemetery.
