Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (E. Twohey, 10th Hussars) officially impressed naming, slight contact marks, very fine £200-250

Edward Twohey was born in Tralee, Co. Kerry. He attested for the 4th Dragoon Guards at Cork on 8 January 1839, aged 18 years. Later with the 10th Hussars he served in India, August 1846-April 1855 and the Crimea, April 1855-July 1856. For the latter service he was awarded the Queen’s Medal with Sebastapol clasp and the Turkish Medal. In October 1856 he was Court Martialed for being drunk on duty, receiving 84 days hard labour (40 days remitted). He was discharged at his own request on 8 May 1863 having completed his period of service. With copied service papers.
