Royal Warrant Holders Association Medal, G.V.R., silver, 22mm., the reverse engraved, ‘Alfred Dales, 14th January 1921’; together with an assortment of commemorative awards (10), mainly in white metal and largely of local interest, dating from 1877-1931 (Ashton-under-Lyne, Hyde, Manchester, Stalybridge, Stockport, etc.), but also including a Jabalpur Gun Carriage Factory Coronation 1911 commemorative, bronze, 28mm.; Peace 1919 commemoratives for Glossop and Salford, gilt-metal and white metal; military prize medals (2), Cameron Highlanders, bronze, and Rifle Brigade, silver, both named; an attractive Westmorland County Council School Attendance Medal, with ‘Three Years Perfect Attendance’ clasp, the reverse impressed, ‘William Dobson, 1903’, bronze, 37mm.; Manchester, Post Office Boy Messengers’ ‘Proficiency at Drill & Good Conduct’ award, silver and enamel, 29mm., enamel a little chipped; a proof striking for a button design, by W. J. Dingley, Birmingham, with upper crest flanked by ‘19’ and ‘14’ and ‘Volunteered for Birmingham Battalion’ below; and a silver-plated cigarette case, with Middle Eastern decoration, the interior with engraved inscription, ‘Christmas 1943, Teheran, Iran, Major W.
