M.M. London Gazette 11 December 1918.
Private John Blunn, 2/4th Battalion Hampshire Regiment, from Birmingham, was awarded the Military Medal for his services in the Ardre Valley during the Second Battle of the Marne, July-August 1918. An extract from a regimental history states of the battle, ‘A considerable number of honours fell to the Battalion as a result of this fight, .... One might refer to ... Pte. Blunn, rather small in stature but big in grit; ...’
