Frederick Charles Percy Feilmann joined the Honourable Artillery Company in 1940 and was then commissioned into the Royal Fusiliers in January 1941. He was appointed a War Substantive Lieutenant and Temporary Captain in December 1941;Temporary Major in 1944 and then held a Short Service Commission as a Captain in the Royal Fusiliers, 1946-50. In Malaya he served with Army Public Relations. In 1946 he was living in London and was member of the Royal Societies Club. In civilian life he was a Geologist. He died in Australia on 13 January 1975.
During the Second World War he served with the 1st and 8th Army Film Units - sold with a copied extract of the roll of No. 2 Army Film and Photo Section (Public Relations) (North Africa) - Officers, Still and Cine Photographers. The roll lists Captain Feilman as a ‘Director’; amongst his fellow officers was ‘Lieutenant Alan Whicker’, the well known broadcaster. Sold with a signed letter from Alan Whicker dated 28 June 2004 stating that he had no recollection of Captain Feilmann. With other copied research.
