D.C.M. recommendation dated 19 February 1855.
Edward Boughton’s name appears on a memorial dedicated to Sergeants of the 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade in Sebastopol, the relevant inscription reading, ‘E. Boughton: Killed 30 August 1855’. His effects were valued at a little over £2 and he left no will (official sources refer).
