Archibald Blackstock, b. Campbelltown, e. Stirling, 10th Battalion, killed in action, France & Flanders 30.9.1918. Buried at Joncourt Military Cemetery. Sold with extract from the War Diary, “A Coy. who were occupying the very head of the salient were attacked in force by the enemy assisted by a heavy machine gun barrage, surrounded, many killed and the whole of Coy. H.Q. were apparently taken prisoner. The line had to fall back as the position was quite untenable while Joncourt was still in the enemy’s occupation.”
