‘A Silver Medal to Captain Robert Court, s.s. Zeal, for having rescued the crew of the barque Kong Harald during a gale, on the 23rd of February 1879. A Silver Medal and a Binocular Glass to Mr George B. Allen, chief officer, for going with a boat’s crew, and in two trips effecting the rescue, at very great risk to his life from the swamping of the boat after everybody else had got out. £2 each to the four men who formed the boat’s crew’ (Ref.
