Joseph Harold Beebee was born in Rushall, Staffordshire c.1895. A member of the Buckinghamshire Constabulary before the war, he enlisted at Walsall, Staffordshire. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards he was killed in action on 20 September 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the La Ferte-sous-Jouarre Memorial and also on the Bucks Constabulary Memorial in Aylesbury. He was the son of James and Harriet Beebee of 151 Green Lane, Walsall. Sold with copied research including photocopies from Fifteen Rounds a Minute, edited by Craster, which records for 20 September, ‘In the same position. Again heavily shelled, but only four casualties. German counter-attack at night easily beaten off’.

Private Ernest Wood, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 26 August 1914. He was discharged on 16 July 1915 and was awarded a Silver War Badge. Sold with copied roll extract and m.i.c. - this latter records the comment, ‘Died’.
