Ernest Hebblethwaite entered the France/Flanders theatre of war, as a Quartermaster Serjeant in the 7th Battalion K.R.R.C., on 19 May 1915. For his service in France he was subsequently awarded the M.S.M. R.Q.M.S. Hebblethwaite was commissioned a Quartermaster, with the rank of Lieutenant in 1926; was promoted to Captain (Quartermaster) in 1934 and attained the rank of Major (Quartermaster) in 1938. He was placed on Retirement Pay in 1946. Sold with copied research.
