R.); Defence and War Medals, Great War medals with heavy contact wear, edge bruising and polished and the B.W.M. with tightened suspension claw, therefore good fine, the Second War medals nearly extremely fine (6) £1400-1600

D.C.M. London Gazette 17 April 1918 ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He has done excellent work on patrols and wiring parties, and has shown splendid courage and initiative on all occasions.’

The 11th Battalion, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment was formed at Lancaster as a Bantam Battalion (men below the regulation height for an infantry soldier) and disbanded in February 1918.
