M.S.M. London Gazette 18 January 1919. ‘.... in recognition of valuable services rendered with the Armies in France & Flanders’. ‘M2-082643 Pte. Alexander Wylie Greig, 29th M.T. Coy. A.S.C. (attached H.Q. 29th Divl. Artillery). Flanders 1918 - For continued exemplary service as a driver of the R.A. car. Has shown a high degree of skill and nerve, and persistent devotion to duty. In the most trying circumstances he has never failed in coolness and courage, whilst the care he has bestowed on his car is proved by the fact of the immunity from trouble after more than three years continuous work at the front’.
