Cavalry officer’s sword, a good 1796 pattern light cavalry officer’s sword, the 84cm curved fullered blade by Jackson, 4 Fazeley Street, Birmingham, with fine frost-etched decoration, including stands of arms, winged angel, laurel wreaths, etc., all amid intricate foliate sprays, within ribbons ‘Jackson’s warranted’ and within floral wreaths the owners initials ‘TF’ ?, the blade retaining much of its original finish, regulation steel stirrup guard, black fish-skin covered grip bound with silver wire, hilt retains some original finish, complete with its steel scabbard, scabbard patinated overall and with small area of rust incrustation £800-1000
