Memorial Plaque 1914-18 (2) (Lowden Dearden; Henry John Lewis Stokes) second in card envelope, good very fine (2) £60-80
Lowden Dearden was born in Bury, Lancashire and enlisted at Ramsbottom. Serving in the 1st/5th Battalion East Lancashire Regiment, he was killed in action at Gallipoli on 12 June 1915. He was buried in Twelve Tree Copse Cemetery.
Henry John Lewis Stokes lived in West Battersea and enlisted in London. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Wiltshire Regiment, he died of wounds on 31 May 1918, aged 22 years. The son of Mr L. W. Stokes of 13 Bridge Street, Battersea; he was buried in Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille, Pas de Calais, France.
