W. R. C. Miller was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in August 1940. He served with the regiment in the retreat to Dunkirk as Brigade Intelligence Officer. Promoted a War Substantive Lieutenant in February 1942, he commanded a Mortar Platoon of the Support Company, 1st Battalion Duke of Wellington’s Regiment at the time of the Anzio Landing. He was promoted Temporary Captain in July 1944 and in August was appointed Adjutant. Sold with copied research details.
