1186 Private William Murray, 11th Hussars, was killed in action on 1 November 1914, aged 26 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. He was the husband of Margaret Murray of 4 East James Lane, Lower Baggott, Dublin. Murray had been the champion boxer of the 13th Hussars in India.
