A silver cigarette case with gold decoration appertaining to No. 300 (Polish) Squadron, the lid with crowned ‘300’ to upper left and ‘Dowodcy Oficerowie 300 Dyon’ (which translates as ‘Commanding Officers of 300 Squadron’) at base, these applied letters and numbers in gold, and the gilt interior with immaculately engraved details of 58 operational sorties, ranging from ‘10.I.1942 Wilhelmshaven’ to ‘4.XI.1943 Bostock’, several of these entries with bordering details of sortie type (e.g. ‘Anti-submarine sweep’), complete with interior sprung retaining band, in excellent overall condition £250-300
