Although Royal Mint output figures for 1876 record that bronze coin to the face value of £56 was struck in that year, no coins dated 1876 without an unequivocal h are believed extant. Michael Gouby kindly advises that Laurie Bamford believed that the apparent omission of the h on this coin was due to a filled die
