A group of three awarded to Charlotte Bird for services during the Easter Rebellion 1916

ORDER OF ST. JOHN OF JERUSALEM, Serving Sister, breast badge in silver and enamels; ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION, Re-examination medal, reverse inscribed (184905 Charlotte Bird) fitted with silver bar dated '1917' the reverse numbered (184905); ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION, War Service badge in bronze and enamels, with bar 'Dublin' numbered on the reverse (8261); together with a fine leather bound testimonial album to C. Bird 1914-23, from the members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, Dundrum Nursing Division, illustrated by hand throughout by one of the members, E. Shannon, good very fine (4)

Charlotte Bird originally joined the Dundrum (Dublin) Nursing Division, S.J.A.B., in 1914. During the Easter Rebellion in 1916, Charlotte Bird was Commandant of the emergency auxiliary hospital which was set up at the High School in Harcourt Street, Dublin, to care for the wounded during the Rebellion. For her services she was awarded the St. John Ambulance Brigade Certificate of Honour and appointed a Serving Sister of the Order of St. John.
