Edward Alan Vagg was killed on 15 May 1940, after returning from a “Ploughing” operation to the Ruhr in a Hampden of No. 83 Squadron. His aircraft crashed near Louth, Lincolnshire, ‘having responded correctly to an anti-aircraft battery’. Vagg was interred in Sketty (St. Paul’s) Churchyard, Glamorganshire, near where his parents lived.
