Scottish Infantry officer’s Sword, fitted with the cruciform Field Service hand guard, GVR cypher to the blade and contained in a brown leather field service scabbard, sword frog, Sam Browne belt and spurs contained in a soft leather pouch, blade clean with only slight patches of surface rust some scuffing to the scabbard £100-120
This sword was carried by Alfred Bruce, a time served soldier with the Buffs (Royal East Kent) Regiment, enlisting in the 16th Royal Scots in 1914 and soon promoted to Sergt-Major he applied for and was granted a commission in the 17th Royal Scots (see Lot 973 for further details).
