Lieutenant Frederick Fincastle Campbell, fourth son of Major Leveson Granville Campbell of Fairfield, Ayrshire, and a nephew of General Sir Frederick Campbell, K.C.B., D.S.O., was born on 13 July 1887. He joined the 15th (Queensland and Tasmania) Battalion, A.I.F. in June 1915 but was later commissioned into the 47th Battalion, being killed in action on 7 June 1917. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial in Belgium.
